  • Mayse Farm Market, a family-run business on North St. Joseph Avenue, celebrated 85 years serving the Tri-State community on August 3 with a day of food, fun and music. The market sells fruits, vegetables and summer flowers and is known for its pumpkins and fall activities — it is open every day.  WEHT

  • Woods and Woods celebrated 40 years with a ribbon cutting at their new office in Haynie's Corner — the building is a renovated former church and school on SE 3rd St. Owner Neil Woods invested over $9 million in renovations that include a light fixture made from pipes of the original organ.  WEHT

CRIME NEWS

  • A driver named Edin Jimenez Hernandez was arrested for DUI after sideswiping a deputy's vehicle near East Columbia Street and North Morton Avenue and leading deputies on a low-speed chase before being caught on East Iowa Street — he admitted drinking, failed field sobriety tests, did not have a license, and registered a blood alcohol level of 0.205.  44 News
  • Evansville Police said 37-year-old Scotty Devers fled from officers after being spotted at a Marathon gas station on North Fulton Avenue and ran through red lights—he was later caught near Maryland Street and Fifth Avenue and charged with Resisting Police and a Felony Warrant.  14 News
  • EPD said a 25-year-old Boonville man was arrested in Evansville for drunk driving after he side swiped a car on the Lloyd Expressway around 5:10 p.m. Saturday—he then swerved on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and failed field sobriety tests before being pulled over at Rotherwood and Adams.  14 News
  • Evansville Police arrested 37 year old Scotty Devers after he fled from officers following a stop at a gas station on North Fulton Avenue, sped past stop signs and was caught near Maryland Street—he now faces charges for resisting law enforcement and an outstanding felony warrant.  44 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews are replacing pipes on State Road 66 today from Juanita Avenue in Blairsville past University Parkway to State Road 65 and a detour via SR-65, SR-68, and SR-165 is set for drivers in the Parkers Settlement area—work is expected to last one week. Local traffic will continue to have access during the closure.  14 News

  • Evansville native Lilly King finished fifth in her final 50 meter Breaststroke race at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore with a time of 30.25 seconds—she announced her retirement in June.  14 News
