- ➤ Boonville will host the 139th Labor Day Celebration at the Warrick County Fairgrounds this weekend. The event is the oldest Labor Day Association Celebration in the nation and will feature a pageant led by Sherry Carlisle Smith. 44 News

- ➤ Evansville police charged a 30-year-old man with strangulation, sexual battery and intimidation after a woman said he hit, pushed and sexually assaulted her during an argument at her Eden Drive apartment on Aug. 21—he was arrested and booked into jail on Monday night. 44 News
- ➤ A USI student, Devean A. White, 20, faces rape and strangulation charges after an alleged sexual assault was reported at Ruston Hall on Sunday evening+ he is held without bond at Vanderburgh County jail pending a court hearing. Courier & Press

- ➤ City leaders held neighborhood meetings on Tuesday with the city engineer and contractors in Downtown to review upcoming road closures for the Fifth and Main project and other construction work. Residents shared concerns about side streets wearing out — the city said detailed schedules will soon be posted on social media. 44 News
