CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man was charged after allegedly attacking a Marathon gas station worker with a golf club and stealing over $750 early Tuesday, authorities said—surveillance footage captured the incident and he was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. 44 News
- ➤ A wanted man from Wabash County, Illinois was arrested Wednesday morning in Evansville — 32-year-old Devin Brittain faces multiple felony charges including aggravated battery and criminal damage to property and is held in Vanderburgh County Jail on no bond. 44 News
- ➤ Three Evansville residents were sentenced to federal prison for a meth trafficking operation—60-year-old Patrick Adams, who led the ring, received a 17-year sentence plus five years of supervised release while 36-year-old Jorden Ott and 35-year-old Amanda Lamm were sentenced to 10 years, 10 months and 5 years, 3 months respectively after a May 2021 search uncovered hidden meth and cash in Adams’ home. 44 News

- ➤ The Indiana Court of Appeals sided with consumer advocates Tuesday when it overturned a decision by the state utility regulator that let Duke Energy charge ratepayers $62 million to clean up coal ash from before 2023 — the ruling means Citizens Action Coalition can now sue on behalf of affected customers. - ➤ Evansville Police Foundation will host the Policeman's Ball with the theme Shake, Rattle, and Patrol on Saturday, September 20 at Bally's Riverfront Event Center—doors open at 5 p.m. The event will include dinner, cocktails, auctions, awards and dancing, and it will raise funds for police gear, training and community programs. 44 News
