- ➤ The University of Evansville will hold its 23rd annual Chili Bowl Sale on October 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the East Terrace Lawn near the Ridgway University Center, selling handmade ceramic bowls with proceeds to support local hunger efforts and offering a free serving of chili with each purchase; if rain occurs, the sale will move indoors to Eykamp Hall and only cash or checks will be accepted. 44 News

- ➤ The Warrick County Coroner's Office confirmed the identities of 74-year-old Ricky Kiesel of Newburgh and 52-year-old Jason Born of Evansville—who died when a head-on crash occurred on SR 66 at Epworth Road shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday. 44 News

- ➤ A 35-year-old Illinois paramedic, Brandon Elam, was arrested in Evansville on charges of rape and burglary after he admitted knocking on a woman’s apartment door and letting himself in when she did not answer—police say she reported that he raped her while he claimed the encounter was consensual. 44 News
- ➤ Evansville Police are asking for any surveillance footage from August 27th between 2:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.—the video should cover the area between Washington Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. 44 News

- ➤ The West Side Nut Club released the 2025 Munchie Map+ showing 137 food booths along West Franklin Street from Wabash Avenue to St. Joseph Avenue for the upcoming Fall Festival. The festival will take place during the first full week of October and will offer local organizations an important chance to fundraise. 44 News

- ➤ The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Evansville East branch announced it will close its current location at 6240 E. Virginia St., Ste. A on Sept. 16 and reopen at 808 S. Green River Road on Sept. 19—its new space will include 18 customer stations and a BMV Connect Center with self-service kiosks available 24 hours a day. Courier & Press
