ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Before a fire at PBTT Corp.’s Newburgh facility left caustic ash across Warrick County, IDEM had cited the company for stockpiling combustible magnesium chips and other hazardous waste practices—raising safety concerns that now prompt EPA investigations and clean-up projects at nearby Vann Park.  Courier & Press

  • Indiana universities are reinforcing campus safety measures for upcoming events after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a Utah college session—student groups are re-evaluating security protocols to protect free speech.  Courier & Press

  • Reitz football posted a 19 to 14 win over North on Friday as their defense forced four turnovers and held the Huskies scoreless until the final quarter. Coach Brunson said changes in offense, such as moving senior Johnson to receiver (to take advantage of his speed), helped the Panthers find a new identity and keep them in the SIAC title race.  Courier & Press
  • High school football scores from Friday night in the Evansville area and across Indiana were released. Jasper won 63 to 0 over Bosse and Vincennes Lincoln won 46 to 13 among many other results from that night.  Courier & Press
  • Southwestern Indiana high school football week 4 features key matchups with Mater Dei playing Memorial at 6:30 p.m. and Tell City facing North Posey at 7 p.m.—local broadcasts will stream live scores as teams vie for stronger conference standings.  Courier & Press
