  • The West Side Nut Club announced that Half Pot tickets can now be purchased online to support local nonprofits — the largest fundraising event in the nation. Early Bird Special tickets are on sale until October 6th at 7 p.m. CDT and offer buyers a chance to win a Polaris UTV from River City Pro Motorsports.  44 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Dutch Bros Coffee will open a new drive-thru store at 2421 Menards Drive later this year, giving Evansville another option for specialty coffee — the new store will be the sixth in Indiana for the chain with over 1,000 locations in 22 states.  Courier & Press

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Businesses in Evansville are facing higher utility bills from CenterPoint Energy that have raised concerns among local companies like BFIT, a gym that saw a 17% rise in July and 27% in August. The rising costs have forced the gym to dip into reserve funds and call on CenterPoint for relief—adding pressure on small businesses for future budgeting.  44 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • SONIC donated $30,000 to Evansville public schools by giving $10,000 from each of three top-ranked local restaurants through DonorsChoose—this gift celebrates their placement among the Top 50 nationwide during the Dr. Pepper Sonic Games. One top-performing crew will compete in Nashville next month for the national title.  44 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Holly's House, an Evansville advocacy center, unveiled a redesigned website for its abuse prevention program Brave Boundaries to offer free resources for teachers, parents & children. The program aims to address rising digital risks, including social media and artificial intelligence threats, and will be taught in Indiana schools.  Courier & Press
  • Deaconess Health System will offer Saturday morning drive-thru flu shot clinics by appointment as well as in-office appointments throughout September and October. Anyone aged 6 months and older can get the vaccine at locations in Evansville and Henderson, helping protect against influenza.  Courier & Press
