- ➤ Woof Fest kicks off today from noon to 5 p.m. at 2000 West Franklin Street, Evansville — the free event organized by It Takes a Village will offer live music, games, a vendor market, contests, a beer garden and food trucks while proceeds are donated to a local Tri-State shelter. 44 News

- ➤ On Friday, September 26th, Evansville honored Raymond Farabaugh, co-president of D-Patrick Inc., who was named the 2025 TIME Dealer of the Year at the National Automobile Dealers Association Show. A donation was presented to a local charity in his honor. 44 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Since 2023, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office partnered with Evansville Recovery Alliance and Overdose Lifeline, Inc. to distribute Narcan and a digital manual to inmates upon release—by Sept. 9 nearly 10,000 inmates had left jail, with about 24% receiving Narcan. 44 News

- ➤ Jeremy Willis stepped down as the Boonville High School boys basketball coach because he was spread too thin by his business, family and coaching duties—he finished three seasons with a record of 28 wins and 43 losses and expressed confidence in his players moving forward. Courier & Press
- ➤ High school football week 6 games in southwestern Indiana were played on Friday — key matchups included Heritage Hills at 7 p.m. against Gibson Southern and Reitz visiting Castle at 6:30 p.m. Updates were provided live on local radio and video streams. Courier & Press
- ➤ Friday night high school football games on Sept. 26 provided scores for Evansville area and statewide matchups—Evansville Memorial beat Evansville Bosse 56 to 6 and Evansville North won 49 to 18 while other schools recorded varied wins and losses. Courier & Press
- ➤ Gibson Southern won a close 38-34 game over Heritage Hills on Friday, Sept. 26—finishing with a strong final play and a key interception by quarterback Zach Foster at Jack Jewell Memorial Field in Fort Branch.
