  • Yesterday, Bosse Field hosted the 4th Annual River City Wiffle Ball Classic where 48 teams played a double-elimination tournament to raise funds and awareness for homeless services. Aurora Evansville — a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness — organized the event, which also featured family-friendly inflatables, a free kids field, and food trucks.  44 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Deaconess hosted the 2nd Annual Breast Friends Survivor Walk on Saturday, September 27 at Deaconess Sports Park—celebrating survivors and honoring those lost with a one-mile walk at 11 a.m., educational booths, and the 'MEGA Breasts' inflatable display.  44 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Southwestern Indiana teams and players have earned spots in the IHSAA golf state championship as Castle scored 337 in the regional—Barr-Reeve and three individuals, Abby Shires, Kate Edwards and Grace Hickey, also advanced. They will compete next weekend to build on their strong regional scores.  Courier & Press
  • Meeks Madness kicked off the 2025-26 basketball season for the University of Evansville's men and women's teams at Meeks Family Fieldhouse on Saturday, September 27 at 6 p.m. Admission was free and the first 200 fans received a purple T-shirt + activities featured a three-point contest, a slam dunk contest and an autograph session, with season and 50/50 tickets offered + local TV coverage following the event.  44 News
