- ➤ Ticket sales for the 2025 Nut Club Half-Pot are underway ahead of the Fall Festival with in-person sales at the Mead Johnson Parking Lot until October 5 and booth sales along Franklin Street from October 5 to October 11. Online sales offer an early-bird prize for tickets bought before October 7—and by noon Wednesday the total pot had neared $13,000. 44 News
- ➤ The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival will take place on October 6. Organizers have added concrete barriers on Franklin Street for extra security and are selling tickets online and in-person while rides have already begun arriving—traffic alerts were issued by EWSU. 14 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ INDOT officials said the redesigned U.S. 41 intersection with Washington Avenue near Benjamin Bosse High School reduced crashes on Oct 1—its improvements included a new left-turn layout and a pedestrian bridge to guide traffic safely. Courier & Press
- ➤ Temporary flight restrictions are in effect for the Fall Festival from October 6 to October 12, 2025—unauthorized drones are banned from a one-mile radius around the festival center daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. CDT with drone detection systems ensuring safety. 44 News
- ➤ The City of Evansville announced its 50th demolition this year as part of Mayor Stephanie Terry’s Fight Blight initiative to remove dangerous, decaying properties and improve neighborhood safety. The city has committed over $500,000 to these efforts and will work with partners to redevelop sites—more removals are scheduled for the coming months. 44 News
- ➤ Mayor Stephanie Terry is accepting proposals for programs funded by the city’s opioid settlement money—applications opened Monday and are due by midnight Oct. 28. A review panel will evaluate proposals that follow Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School recommendations and make suggestions to the mayor before presenting them to the city council. Courier & Press
