- ➤ West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Half Pot sales began on Franklin Street at 10 a.m. Monday and have run since Oct. 1, reaching $815,970 by Tuesday evening while tickets are sold in-store and online; if sales follow last year's trend, the total may hit $2 million and the winner will be announced online on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. Central. - ➤ Tickets for the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Half Pot are on sale in person on Franklin Street from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and have been available online since Oct. 1. As of midday Tuesday, the total had reached $712,540—up about $42,000 from an earlier update—and the pot may crest near $2 million if it follows last year's trend. Courier & Press

- ➤ Registration is open for the USI Norwegian Foot March on November 15, where participants will complete an 18.6-mile course on Evansville’s west side while carrying a 25-pound rucksack — ROTC cadets pay $35 and others pay $55. The event supports the USI ROTC Program and includes a canned food drive benefiting Archie’s Food Closet — registration closes November 7 or when 500 participants sign up. 44 News

- ➤ The city is offering METS bus rides to the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The shuttle picks up riders at the C.K. Newsome Community Center and drops them off at West Franklin Street and Wabash Avenue every half hour—riders pay $0.75 per ride with kids five and under riding free and a limit of three free kids per adult. - ➤ Steel beams were set on Monday at the Vanderburgh County Jail expansion site—Captain Dave Guetling and Chief Deputy Nathan Sugarman helped with the work. The new addition will add 172 beds including a dedicated mental health unit to better serve inmates and community needs. 44 News

- ➤ Developers began construction on the $13M Franklin Lofts housing project on Evansville's west side today to convert a historic building into 56 rental apartments—preserving the city's industrial heritage—and the project is expected to open in 2027. 44 News
