- ➤ PAAWS No-Kill Animal Rescue introduced a new pet named Lady on Friday. The 7-month-old mixed breed is known to be good with kids and other animals. 44 News
- ➤ Mickey's Kingdom Park along the Evansville riverfront will remain closed until October 18th following renovation delays—officials said work began on October 3rd to replace the playground surface and install new equipment. 44 News
- ➤ Troop 374 is at the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival (Booth 45) selling spicy eagle wings, chili, fried mushrooms, mac & cheese bites and apple cider. The money raised will help local troops get supplies such as tents and water jugs. 44 News
- ➤ By 12:45 p.m. Friday, the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival half pot reached $1,648,470 and could exceed $2 million if it follows last year's record (record was $2,000,075). Tickets are available on Franklin Street Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or online (festival week), and the winner will be announced at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 online. - ➤ WSNC announced new rules for this year’s Fall Festival Half Pot raffle that require winners to agree to public identity disclosure instead of remaining anonymous, reversing the trend from last year’s first public win. The winning ticket will be drawn at 7 p.m. CST Sunday using Rafflebox—this drawing will be recorded and shared on social media—winners must then contact WSNC with their original ticket and valid photo ID to claim the prize. - ➤ Heritage Hills beat North Posey 56–0 in PAC football on Oct. 10 — video highlights from the game show strong plays by the team. Courier & Press
- ➤ Heritage Hills moved to 7-1 after a shutout win over North Posey at Joe Gengelbach Field (56-0 score) and coach Todd Wilkerson said the team must keep fixing its defensive mistakes; they will finish the regular season at Boonville next week (plans include better player rotations) as they prepare for postseason play.
