- ➤ Evansville's West Side Nut Club Fall Festival has raised $2,342,120 just after 3 p.m.—over last year's $2,000,070—and is nearing its conclusion. 44 News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Five high school girls soccer teams in southwestern Indiana won their IHSAA sectional championships. Memorial won its Class 3A title in a 1-0 win over North — Avery Slade’s 30-yard goal broke a scoreless tie with 27 minutes left — and will face Floyd Central on Oct. 16 in the regional semifinal. - ➤ Southwestern Indiana saw five boys soccer teams win sectional championships on October 11—North defeated Memorial 1-0 at the EVSC Soccer Complex to clinch its first title since 2016 and will head to Jeffersonville for the regional semifinal. Titles were also secured by Vincennes Lincoln, Heritage Hills, Northeast Dubois and Forest Park in a week of big wins. Courier & Press
