- ➤ Borrowed Hearts, a non-profit serving children in foster care, posted on social media that it needs kids’ winter clothes as colder weather approaches—donations will be accepted on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at its location on Burch Park Drive—because the organization expects a higher demand through December and January. 14 News
- ➤ 44News This Morning met several new furry friends on Friday when PAAWS No-Kill Animal Rescue introduced Bronson and his siblings — Australian Cattle Dogs about 8 weeks old — in its Furry Friend Friday series. 44 News
- ➤ John Crowley, a local from the west side, won the Nut Club Half-Pot by buying 50 online tickets for $40—his prize was over $1.3 million as the pool reached a record $2,618,110. - ➤ Republic Services will start a fall leaves pickup on Monday as heavy trash pickups are paused until December 12th—city residents can resume scheduling heavy trash collection on December 15th. 14 News
- ➤ Evansville nonprofit SWIRE is launching new jail-based reentry and recovery programs at the Vanderburgh County Jail — where trained peer coaches will meet with those in custody to plan personalized care — using opioid settlement funds. The county sheriff and city support the program to help reduce recidivism and build long-term care for people in recovery. 14 News
