- ➤ Ivy Tech held its Halloween Hoopla event yesterday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at its main Evansville campus, where families dressed up to join indoor trick or treating, giveaways, and fun activities. 14 News
- ➤ From now through November 11, Schnucks is hosting a food drive with donation bins at its 113 stores to aid local food banks and pantries amid increased need due to paused SNAP benefits from the federal shutdown—supporting community hunger relief efforts. 44 News
- ➤ Evansville food pantries are preparing extra support as the Commission on Food Security urges residents to visit local pantries ahead of a SNAP cut on November 1—many rely on these services for their meals—while volunteers ask for more donations. 14 News
- ➤ CenterPoint Energy announced a series of community meetings in early November where customers will learn about local energy improvements and help programs. The first meeting is on November 6 at South Spencer High School in Rockport — customers can visit stations to get details on rate changes and investments. 14 News
- ➤ Taco John's in Evansville is offering a free meal with a bean or beef burrito and Potato Oles — no questions asked — at its St. Joseph Avenue and Washington Avenue locations to help residents as SNAP funds run out on November 1. - ➤ On Monday, the University of Southern Indiana will break ground on a renovation and expansion of the Wright Administration Building, the campus’s first building (built in 1969 under Dr. David L Rice). The project will transform the building as the university updates its historic campus. 14 News
- ➤ Ivy Tech Community College announced Stephannie Bailey as the new Senior Vice President of Development and President of the Ivy Tech Foundation—she will work with donors to support students, faculty and programs and build community partnerships. 44 News

- ➤ Reitz Mighty Marching Panthers band members are heading to Indianapolis this weekend for the Semi-State Championships—they earned a gold rating at a regional event and will advance to the State Finals on November 8 at Lucas Oil Stadium if they place. Their special Halloween practice showed how hard they worked as a team in preparation for this big event. 14 News
- ➤ University of Evansville will host the MVC Championship today at Angel Mounds Cross Country Course — the women's race starts at 10:30 a.m. — and the men's race begins at 11:30 a.m. 14 News
