- ➤ A new partnership between Setan Harvest and Ascension St. Vincent is helping families in Evansville facing food insecurity by donating 80% of the farm's produce and using hydroponics plus high tunnels to grow crops during winter. The effort comes as many families struggle with paused SNAP benefits. 14 News
- ➤ Today the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will visit Evansville; it stops at Schnucks on the East Side at 3501 N. Green River Road from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on the West Side at 4500 W. Lloyd Expressway from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.—the mobile is part of a Southwest Indiana tour that will also visit Darmstadt and Jasper later in the week. Courier & Press
- ➤ Animal welfare groups in Evansville announced plans to reduce adoption fees and offer incentives during Hoosier Adopt a Shelter Pet Month to help ease high shelter intakes caused by rising costs and a lack of affordable pet care. VHS will hold a free adoption drive for over 300 animals through Nov. 16 (all with required spay/neuter and vaccinations) and Animal Care & Control is set to host an event Nov. 17-22 to boost adoptions. - ➤ Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation sold about 60 acres from the old Eagle Valley golf course to the McCutchanville Community Association, which plans to turn the land into a park and nature reserve for family recreation and education—officials said they are asking for community donations as plans are finalized. 14 News
- ➤ The Tri-State Food Bank is holding emergency food distributions this week as SNAP recipients miss needed aid; it held a giveaway today at Memorial Lofts near Lincoln Avenue and Bayard Park and will hold another event tomorrow at Tulip Tree Health Care on Main Street starting at 10 a.m.—the effort targets families most at risk. 14 News

- ➤ Today, Evansville joins in celebrating World Kindness Day — an international observance that encourages simple acts of kindness like holding doors and donating to charity — which has been recognized for nearly 30 years. Courier & Press
- ➤ The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will host a Local Author Fair on Saturday, November 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. at EVPL Central in the Browning Rooms—more than a dozen local authors will read their work every 15 minutes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the café space and sell their books with their own payment methods. 44 News
- ➤ Bar Louie Evansville will host its Ballet Brunch-Nutcracker Edition on November 15th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.—serving a full brunch menu, seasonal specials, and a Santa visit while donating 15% of food and nonalcoholic sales to Ballet Indiana. The Nutcracker will be performed on December 13th at 7 p.m. and December 14th at 2 p.m. at the Victory Theatre. 44 News
- ➤ The University of Southern Indiana Chamber Choir will host its 54th annual Madrigal Feaste Dec. 4-7 at Carter Hall—performances are set for 7 p.m. on Dec. 4-6 and a 1 p.m. matinee on Dec. 7 with ticket sales ending at noon on Dec. 1—while longtime director Daniel Craig concludes his 30-year tenure. - ➤ The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office is asking for information about unclaimed man Jerry Hill, who died November 11 after receiving care at North Park Nursing Home and was registered at 313 Read Street; anyone with details should call (812-435-5730). 14 News
- ➤ The Evansville Police Department is partnering with EVSC to host the second annual Future Women of Criminal Justice Symposium, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. on November 18. The event will feature speakers such as Deputy Mayor Lindsay Snyder and County Prosecutor Diana Moers—followed by a group photo and lunch to honor women making strides in criminal justice careers. 14 News
