  • Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights will open in Garvin Park on Nov 27 and run nightly until Jan 1 with 95 light displays near Bosse Field — tickets range from $7 to $25 per vehicle and $30 for carriage rides. All proceeds will benefit Easterseals Rehabilitation Center that helps thousands with disabilities.  Courier & Press
  • Evansville is preparing for the 36th Annual Fifth Third Bank Turkey Day 5K to take place at 8 a.m. tomorrow in downtown Evansville (the start and finish are at Fifth and Walnut). Registrations will support the Excel Center, a free adult high school that helps locals earn a high school diploma.  44 News
  • Ascension St. Vincent and the Tri-State Food Bank delivered food boxes from the BackPack Food for Kids Program to Cedar Hall Elementary School today to ensure students (K-12) have meals for Thanksgiving break; the boxes include full meals, drinks, and snacks for families facing food insecurity.  14 News
  • The Evansville Rescue Mission provided 70-pound boxes of food to 2,500 families on Tuesday during its annual Gobbler Gathering—offering free Thanksgiving meals to local residents in need.  Courier & Press

  • Henderson EMA is searching for missing teen Elias Webb, who was last seen near Washington and South Green Streets—he wore a black hoodie with a wolverine logo on the back and left sleeve, black jeans and brown work boots.  14 News

  • Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana got a READI 2.0 grant for $1750000 and broke ground last week on a new 24000 square foot discovery center for grades 4 through 12—officials said construction will be finished next year.  14 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will accept used cooking oil from residents on Nov.29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sunrise Pump Station on 1200 Waterworks Road to prevent pipe clogs & protect local waterways.  Courier & Press

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Local residents can still cut down their own Christmas tree at family-owned farms like Sycamore Valley Tree Farm at 7120 New Harmony Road, which offers white pines, Norway spruce and Fraser fir on select days—Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. Other options include Goebel Farms and tree farms in Dubois and Pike counties that offer a variety of trees with different hours through the holiday season.  Courier & Press

  • John Barnhill, who played at Evansville’s Carver Center and led Lincoln High School to city titles, will be posthumously inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame — the induction ceremony is set for March 18 in New Castle.  Courier & Press
