  • Boy Scout Troop 399 has sold Christmas trees for nearly 70 years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Thanksgiving Weekend as its busiest time, as families return to relive memories and support the troop. The scouts learn sales skills and bond with friends while raising funds for next year's activities—continuing a cherished local tradition.  14 News
  • Today in Evansville, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. with hot chocolate, live performances, and pictures with Santa, and the tree is lit at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Stephanie Terry urged downtown shoppers to support Small Business Saturday + join the festive event.  14 News
  • The Downtown Evansville Improvement District is hosting the 16th Annual Small Business Saturday today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown; the event offers maps, limited edition Shop Small bags at 318 Main Street, free hot chocolate, and a passport program that gives shoppers a chance to win $500 in e-Gift cards—specialty vendors will line Main Street with handmade jewelry, art and baked goods.  44 News
  • This Thanksgiving, local food relief organizations reported the highest need in recent years—Feed Evansville ran out of canned goods while the Salvation Army fed over 800 people. Officials said they will restock pantries and distribute Christmas baskets as community demand grows.  14 News

  • Evansville Toys & Games is expanding by 15,000 square feet after buying the former Bosler’s Furniture building on Morgan Ave— the new space will house toys and games while trading cards, comic books and movies remain at the current location. The expansion follows a fire that destroyed $200,000 in inventory five years ago and was aided by a community GoFundMe, and the new building is expected to open in 4 to 5 months.  14 News
