- ➤ Burdette Park officials announced that the Aquatic Center season will extend to 78 days from May 23 to Aug. 9, 2026, after drawing over 77,000 guests in 2025. Season pass holders can enjoy a special Swim Under the Lights event (July 10). 14 News

- ➤ Sourcecolo, a tech company from Lehi, will present general data center information at the Warrick County Area Plan Commission meeting on Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Boonville courthouse & answer questions from community members. Courier & Press

- ➤ The Reitz Home Museum in Evansville is hosting Candlelight Christmas Tours today from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Dec. 12, featuring unique holiday designs by local decorators + offering visitors fresh festive ideas. 14 News

- ➤ According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the Midwest's regular gas price fell to $2.74 per gallon on Monday from $2.86 last week (a 9-cent decline) and is about 8.2% lower than the national average. Courier & Press

- ➤ The Indiana Latino Institute held its Third Annual Education Summit and College and Career Fairs, reaching thousands statewide. In Evansville, 329 students from 13 schools worked with 28 employers, with support from Ivy Tech Community College + HOLA Evansville. 44 News
- ➤ Today, the Evansville Region Orr Fellowship held its Finalist day event where 40 college seniors (interviewed with leading Indiana-based companies) aimed to secure career placements; over 100 interviews were conducted and candidate matches will be announced soon. 14 News

- ➤ Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven said that one of his deputies delivered a baby at the Pilot gas station (near Haubstadt) Wednesday night. He confirmed the rare incident as a positive example of community service. 14 News
- ➤ Officials shared before-and-after photos (displaying progress made) of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing project, which began in fall 2024 and is set to finish by year-end next year. 14 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Justin Chase started a community initiative to bring a 24/7 emergency veterinary clinic to the area as pets have been left without care amid a local shortage. Local leaders, including Amanda Coburn, are discussing options to attract the needed veterinary talent — a move that may boost pet adoption rates. 14 News
- ➤ More than one million bags of shredded cheese have been recalled after Great Lakes Cheese initiated the recall on Oct. 3 — products sold in Indiana and elsewhere may contain metal that could cause injury; households are advised to discard or return affected items. Courier & Press
- ➤ An Evansville doctor said the FDA removed the longstanding black box warning from hormone replacement therapy labels for menopausal women and asked companies to update information. Dr. Heather Schroeder explained new research shows the therapy is safer when started earlier — possibly lowering risks of heart disease, dementia and fractures. 14 News
