- ➤ The 10th Annual Evansville Resolution Run will take place on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 10:00 a.m. Organizers encourage runners to donate household items to support the Ozanam Family Shelter and jump-start a healthy new year. 44 News
- ➤ The Evansville-Vanderburgh Human Relations Commission has launched its Downtown Black History Month Banner Project and is asking residents to nominate up to 10 community leaders who have made a lasting impact. - ➤ More than 500 pairs of shoes have been donated to elementary schools in Spencer County as part of the Kicks for Kids Program. Rally Point Events partnered with Indiana Michigan Power to provide properly fitted footwear for students at six local schools. 44 News

- ➤ The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that regional gas prices in the Midwest averaged $2.69 per gallon on Monday, down from $2.72 last week & roughly 7.1% below the national average of $2.90. Courier & Press

- ➤ On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Davey Resource Group conducted a controlled burn at Howell Wetlands in Evansville to manage prairie vegetation, with crew members spraying water along the fire’s perimeter. Courier & Press

- ➤ Indiana officials will ban sugary drinks and candy from SNAP purchases starting Jan. 1, and retailers will update point-of-sale systems + train staff to meet new guidelines aimed at promoting healthier choices. Courier & Press
