  • An Evansville man, Deriontai Mathis, 31, was sentenced to federal prison for trafficking counterfeit fentanyl pills from Arizona to Evansville—he received an 11-year sentence with five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute.  44 News
  • An Evansville man, Deriontai Mathis, 31, pleaded guilty to trafficking fentanyl after investigators found over 10,000 counterfeit pills hidden in a toy car along with $56,800 in cash and 12 guns in his home in 2022—he was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison and will serve five years of supervised release.  WEHT
  • Evansville police arrested Jessica Houseman after she allegedly injured a man during a dispute over a walker at the METS bus terminal and threatened officers, and she now faces felony charges while being held without bond.  44 News

  • Christian music artist TobyMac will perform in Evansville this fall at Old National Events Plaza on November 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets starting at $19.75 will go on sale on July 2 at 11 a.m. & officials warn that seats are limited.  14 News

  • The University of Evansville Board of Trustees announced a change in leadership effective July 1 as Robert G. 'Bob' Jones steps down after four years of service. Dr. William L. 'Bill' Johnson, a UE graduate with almost 40 years of experience in higher education and financial services, will take over as the new chair—bringing fresh guidance to the board.  WEHT
