  • The West Side Nut Club’s Fall Festival Half Pot has been announced in Evansville—ticket number C-4521644 wins a record breaking $1.3 million from a $2.6 million prize, and the winner is urged to call the club.  44 News
  • Newburgh United Methodist Church will host a Trunk or Treat event on October 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church's Life Center and back parking lot—4178 Highway 261. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating from decorated cars, candy, prizes, entertainment, games, crafts, cotton candy, a bounce house, and dinner—all in a safe Halloween environment.  44 News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Realtor.com data shows that in July, single-family homes in Vanderburgh County sold at a median price of $215,600—up 2.7% from June’s $210,000—with six homes selling for over $1 million among 372 recorded sales. In contrast, the median price for condominiums and townhomes dropped sharply from $255,937 in June to $137,500.  Courier & Press

  • After the Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Oregon Ducks 30-20, they moved from No. 7 to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll—now they will host unranked Michigan State at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. ET with tickets starting at $175.  Courier & Press
  • The IHSAA will hold a blind draw for Evansville high school football sectional pairings tonight at 5 p.m. CT on IHSAATV.org, setting up the state tournament that starts Friday, Oct. 24. Defending sectional champions Castle, Reitz and Heritage Hills — among eight area teams polling in USA Today — will look to extend their seasons to Thanksgiving weekend.  Courier & Press
